Qvevri, the clay wine jar
Draft: our own text, not yet checked by a resident.
A qvevri is an egg-shaped clay jar for making and keeping wine. Grape juice and skins go in, and the jar is sealed and buried in the ground. In 2013, qvevri wine-making joined UNESCO’s list of the intangible heritage of humanity.
